About this structural steel project
Steel frame for a rooftop extension built off a concrete slab, with braced portals, purlin cleats and hot dip galvanised fixings set out to take a lightweight roof over the existing building.
The steel was fabricated in our Dublin workshop and installed on site in Stoneybatter, Dublin 7 by our own team. Every job is set out from measured site dimensions, welded and finished in house, and delivered to suit the site programme.
Why we built it this way
Building on top of an existing building is all about weight and fixings. The frame was kept light, braced to stop it racking, and set out so the new roof bears onto the slab where the engineer wanted it. Galvanised fixings were used because they sit in the roof build up for good and cannot be got at again once it is closed in.
