About this structural steel project
Red oxide primed portal frames and a trussed ridge erected over a rear house extension, craned into place, bolted at the apex and eaves and set out to carry the new roof and open gable glazing.
The steel was fabricated in our Dublin workshop and installed on site in Churchtown, Dublin 14 by our own team. Every job is set out from measured site dimensions, welded and finished in house, and delivered to suit the site programme.
Why we built it this way
This extension in Churchtown needed a frame that would carry a heavy roof and still leave room for a big glazed gable. Portal frames with a trussed ridge do exactly that without posts in the middle of the room. The steel was craned over the house in a single morning and bolted up so the roofers could start straight after.
