Kildare stair work splits fairly neatly into two: feature stairs in new and renovated houses around Maynooth, Celbridge and Naas, and industrial access stairs in the business parks along the N7.
Feature stairs in Kildare houses
The design brief we hear most is a straight or single turn flight with a steel spine or cranked stringer, oak treads and either a glass or slim vertical bar balustrade. It suits the open plan hallways in newer Kildare houses, where the stair is visible from the living space.
Because the stair is on show, the finishing matters as much as the structure. Welds are dressed back, the powder coat colour is chosen with the interior, and the tread pans are made to the exact thickness of the timber being used.
Industrial and access stairs
Around Naas, Newbridge and Kill we make a lot of mezzanine access stairs, plant platform stairs and external escape flights. These are function first: galvanised, grating treads, industrial handrail with knee rail and toe board, and a landing arrangement that works with the building's escape plan.
For units still in operation we fabricate off site and fit in a single planned visit, usually outside production hours.
Site measurement across the county
Every stair we make is measured on site first. Kildare is a short run from the Naas Road, so a measurement visit is easy to arrange and does not add to the programme.
We take the floor to floor height at the finished levels, check the opening dimensions and the headroom, and confirm where the balustrade lands before anything is cut.
