Steel fabrication in Kildare: a practical guide

Kildare has more construction activity per head than most counties, from commuter town extensions to the business parks along the N7. This is what to expect when you need steel for any of it.

What gets ordered most

Extension and attic beams dominate the domestic side, particularly around Celbridge, Maynooth, Leixlip, Naas and Newbridge where older houses are being opened up at the back. Feature staircases and balustrades follow, usually as part of a full renovation.

On the commercial side it is mezzanine floors, access stairs, platforms, security gates and yard railings, mostly in the parks around Naas and Kill.

Before you order

Structural items need a structural engineer's design. Non structural items such as railings and gates need a survey. In both cases the finish, the delivery address and the required week should be confirmed at order, because changing them later costs time.

Confirm whether dimensions you are quoting are structural or finished, since floor build ups and screeds routinely account for 100mm or more.

Delivery from the Naas Road

Our workshop is at Unit 3 Ashfield Industrial Estate on the Naas Road in Dublin 22, which puts most of Kildare within an easy run. That means we can usually commit to a specific morning or afternoon rather than a whole day, which matters when a crane is hired.

For rural entrances or soft ground, flag it and we will match the vehicle to the access.

Certification

Everything structural is fabricated under EN 1090-1 EXC3 with the declaration of performance supplied as standard, and the workshop operates an ISO 9001:2015 quality system.

Send drawings or photographs to get a price, normally back within one working day.
