Access stairs, platforms and walkways for plant rooms
Maintenance access is the part of an industrial fit out that gets designed last and used every week. Doing it properly means the people servicing plant are working from a stable platform rather than a ladder and a hope.
What we typically fabricate
Access stairs to roof plant and mezzanines, maintenance platforms around tanks, chillers and AHUs, walkways linking them, ladder access with safety cages where a stair will not fit, and the handrail and toe boards that go with all of it.
Most of this is galvanised mild steel with open mesh flooring, because it sheds water, does not collect debris and can be washed down.
Designing around existing plant
Retrofit access is a measuring job. Plant is already installed, service clearances have to be respected, and the structure available to fix to is whatever the building gave you. We survey before fabricating and model the awkward junctions rather than cutting to fit on the day.
Where roof mounted, the loading has to be checked against the roof structure. That is an engineering question and we raise it early rather than at installation.
Safety requirements
Guarding, toe boards, self closing gates at ladder openings and non slip surfaces are all part of the package. For roof edge work, collective protection is preferred over harness based systems wherever it can be provided.
We fabricate to EN 1090-1 EXC3, so the structural elements carry the documentation your safety file needs.
Installation without shutting you down
Most Dublin industrial clients cannot take plant offline for a week. We pre fabricate in the workshop, deliver in a planned sequence and install in short windows, out of hours where necessary.
Send a plan or photographs of the plant and the access you need, and we will propose an arrangement and price it.
Want this priced for your own job? Send us your drawings or a photo and we will come back with a fixed price, usually within one working day.
